I think one of the biggest controversies of life with kids is where to live. Suburbia is tempting, of course, with its safety, good schools, room to run around. But I cannot stop wishing life could be more urban. You know, shops behind the corner, public transportation, visually interesting environment.We are currently living in the lull of suburbia, but with the grandparents visiting, were able to have an urban treat. One day and night downtown.
I grew up as a city girl. We lived smack in the middle of the city, with the constant hum of traffic and smell of asphalt. I got used to having everything very close.
Living in the city again, with cafes like the Ghirardelli around the corner, I'd probably get pretty fat though.
I could definitely live in this house with the green trim. The building is from 1913, it used to have a wine shop on the street level and a hotel on the upper stories. The facade is gorgeous cream colored tile!
One of the best parts about city life is the different styles of architecture. I could just walk around and admire the little details for hours.People watching can be a lot of fun too.
